Sharps Electrical (Pty) Ltd Installation, offers Supply, Install, Testing, and Commissioning services for the construction and power industry. Its services include the provision of electrical services associated with High Voltage and Low Voltage and backup power distribution, Lighting and small power, Public Hospital Health
systems, Fire Detection and Access Control Systems Electric Instrument Cabling, Instrumentation cabling associated with automation networks, Building Services and CCTV Systems.
The company was founded and incorporated on 5 October 1967 under the companies Proclamation Act No. 71 of 1951 and is Headquartered in Gaborone, Botswana.
The company has an additional office in Francistown, Botswana.
OUR STORY
Sharps Electrical (Pty) Ltd located at Plot No. 1235 Hailie Selassie Road, Gaborone, is the leading electrical engineering contractor and supplier of electrical products and equipment in Botswana.
The company was incorporated on 5 October 1967 under the companies Proclamation Act No. 71 of 1959. Initially the company’s activities were focused on electrical sub-contract work throughout Botswana.
The electrical industry as a whole was totally dependent on securing all the material required to complete projects from foreign suppliers and in 1977, Sharps Electrical (Pty) Ltd expanded its activities to include a commercial section to supply electrical products and equipment for the electrical contracting industry in Botswana opening Branches in Gaborone and in Francistown.
In 1986, the management of Sharps Electrical (Pty) Ltd identified a need to manufacture electrical distribution panel boards locally and the company implemented an expansion program which saw the creation of Lesedi Boards (Pty) Ltd, a group company, dedicated to manufacturing distribution panel boards, distribution pillars and motor control centers for the contracting industry in Botswana.
Throughout its’ life the company management has implemented regular expansion programs to modernize the operation embracing the changing technology in the electrical industry in an endeavor to maintain the market edge required to ensure the company’s success.
Sharps Electrical (Pty) Ltd is a locally based company with its Head Office in Gaborone, Botswana and a Branch Office in Francistown, the industrial and mining center of Botswana. The company employ’s in excess of 500 permanent professional, technical, administrative, supervisory and skilled members of staff and has a policy of whenever possible, training and employing from the local employment market.
Sharps Electrical (Pty) Ltd is an independent organization and is registered with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board of Botswana, BOCCIM the Association of Electrical and Mechanical Contractors of Botswana and the Botswana Export Manufacturers Association. We are also actively represented at Botswana Bureau of Standard Committees and participate in the implementation and preparation of standards relating to our industry.
Sharps Electrical (Pty) Ltd operates an in-house Quality Assurance System based on ISO 9000 and practices Environmental, Community, Occupational, Safety and Health, (ECOSH) procedures in accordance with Botswana requirements. Our technical and supervisory staff are conversant with FIDIC and JBCC, Botswana Government Conditions of Contract most often implemented in Botswana.

iii) A management structure that will promote and ensure the efficient execution of projects in accordance with the Conditions of the Contract applicable from time to time, which will result in value for money to the customer and an equitable financial reward to the company.
