Electrical Contracting

In accordance with the FIDIC conditions of contract the electrical contractor is required to design, prepare material submissions, implement a QA/QC system, Maintain Material Control Records, Measure and Administer and Project Manage their works. Sharps Electrical (Pty) Ltd ensure that the staff and personnel employed to carry out the aforementioned activities have the credentials and are competent to ensure that the main contractor/client is afforded the best opportunity to complete the project on the forecast completion date, within budget and to best standards.

Distribution, Street Lighting and Solar Energy

Sharps Electrical (Pty) Ltd is registered with the Botswana Power Corporation for the supply, Install Test and Commission Medium and High Voltage Overhead Transmission Lines and High Voltage and Low Voltage cable reticulation systems Installation of Medium Voltage Sub-Stations.

We have partnered with Philips Lighting for Solar Street Lighting Projects and have participated in the installation of major Solar Farms. We have completed large Street Lighting projects using underground cable reticulation using High Pressure Sodium and Mercury Street Light Fittings. Sharps Electrical (Pty) Ltd are able to deliver street lighting projects to international standards without compromise to specified road light levels and road user safety. We are at the front of LED street lighting technology and able to supply and maintain a basket of products to monitor, control and save energy on street light installations.

Vertical Transportation

Sharps Electrical is the proud in-country partner for KONE. We have a track record of vertical transportation installations throughout Botswana, with Clients such as BIDPA, PWC Head Office, BIDPA, Gallo Mall, Zambezi Towers, Ministry of Health and CAAB. Our offer is based upon both elevators and escalators that are known for reliability in the retail sector across the globe and particularly in Southern Africa.

Maintenance

Sharps Electrical (Pty) Ltd has an electrical maintenance department that is equipped to implement planned maintenance of electrical systems on major installations utilizing a “Planned Preventative Maintenance System.” This system is particularly effective when used on large projects such as hospitals, multi-story buildings, factories, airfield lighting and other facilities that have new technology systems installed requiring specialist engineering knowledge and expertise.

Our company is the sole agent for APC Uninterruptible Power Supplies in Botswana with Engineers qualified and experienced in their maintenance. We supplied installed & commissioned 250kVA systems in Block 6 & 8 and The Botswana Diamond Valuation Company and supplied, installed commissioned and maintained large UPS Systems at the University of Botswana, Botswana Bureau of Standards and at Orange Botswana.

Our Projects

Fields Shopping Mall

Multimillion Pula shopping mall development in the CBD of Gaborone. The project was a fast track development and included in our scope was from the HV reticulation, substations through to the lighting, small power and fire alarm installation.
